Japanese Stab Binding (Part 2 of 2)
This workshop covers the basic techniques of Japanese stab binding which is a traditional bookbinding technique where pages are sewn together by punching evenly spaced holes along the spine edge, creating a visible spine and a book bound without the need for folding or glue, often using a simple stitch pattern with a few holes, usually four, and resulting in a strong, handmade book with an exposed spine; it originated in Japan and is considered a beginner-friendly binding method due to its simplicity.
