New CEO: David Rowe

David Rowe

I was born in Montreal, eldest of 6 children, and raised in Montreal North. Received an undergraduate degree in English Lit. from Loyola College (now part of Concordia University). I did a Master’s degree in Library Science from McGill U.

I was a corporate librarian at the Federal Business Development Bank for 10 years, supporting the bank’s lending, consulting and training operations.

I left voluntarily after corporate restructuring and became Director of Technical Services at the Orillia Public Library for 22 years. .While in Orillia, I automated the library twice, and was instrumental in the successful efforts to get a new library building. I also was co-ceo in a management team for 3 years.

I took early retirement moved to Alberta, first to Grand Prairie and then Edmonton.

I was the owner/operator of Deja-lu Books, a small online book store, for 3 years.

I moved to Eganville in 2016, when, my wife became CEO of Bonnechere Union Public Library.

I will be working 20 hours a week at the Lanark Highlands Public Library and look forward to meeting the community!
